Moving At The Speed Of God!
Sunday’s Monday
Moving At The Speed Of God!
I have to tell you about my experience with this week’s topic. Several weeks ago, God gave me the title “Moving At The Speed Of God” and unlike all our other inspirations, He gave no other input. Well for three weeks I have tried on 11 different occasions to write a blog on Moving at the speed of God and every attempt turned out to be a rabbit hole (dead end). Then Tuesday Afternoon of this week (10-15-19) God began to impress me with His wisdom on my way home after an empowering BOB (Band of Brothers) Meeting. I felt God saying, “He appreciated my attempts but more than that He appreciated me not printing something He hasn’t blessed.” That set me on fire! But God, continued speaking in my mind, stating it has never been just you and I that publish this Sunday’s Monday. Because I have taken you to people you would never have known and have shown you myself through the hearts of many, in ways you would never have seen. Just as I’ve taught you to tarry long with those who know me, I am teaching you now that together we (my faithful followers and I) have supplied you with new revelations and wisdom every week for 25 years now.” Man! I was riding the clouds at this point! Then God said, “Any knowledge of me that have obtained thus far through study, prayer and meditation is merely a meager beginning when compared to the shared experiences with all those that I have arranged and will arrange for you to meet. My power, wisdom and love are manifested through the actions of my people and My people are to follow me!” These meetings are intentionally held outside the influence of a church building, without denominational leverage or the undertow of condemnation as to allow The Holy Spirit to freely flow and bring forth the revelations necessary to bolster one’s spiritual growth in following Jesus.
As humans, we know that we are a highly complexed creature when compared to other known earthly beings and with that said, we “actually” have little to no concept of how everything around us influences everything about us. For example; humans can’t see past now (this moment) ergo we cover our inadequacy with assumptions, theories, fables and false hoods, thus corrupting our thought process and yet risking everything in the false hope of humans knowing what’s best. This is where the speed of God come into play! As an adult human I’ve had little concern that my thoughts and ideas are based on a tainted and weak precept of life. I wasn’t taught to understand that all I am, is not who I am! Ergo I’ve spent most of my life, doing what I do best, “thinking I know what is best and mine because I’m in control. However, those times came when the problems popped up and everything I started began to fail at an unfixable rate. It seemed every decision I’d made was wrong and in a mess. That’s when God sent me His mercy in a little message that reads Proverbs 15:22 (NLT), Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success. Which is easily translated into, it may have been a good idea, but it wasn’t a God idea. I am not to expect God to bless anything that He wasn’t or isn’t the author of! I ran ahead of God and He slowed me down to His speed; turning my failure into His teaching.
But reality dictates, there is a flip side to the afore mention situation. One can become so complacent with slowing down (to the speed of God) that we fall behind. At times we find ourselves so far behind we can hardly hear God’s voice and may even develop a reluctant attitude to act on it at all. This is where our religious nature kicks in rationalizing every act of disobedience to the point of acceptability. We are born deceivers and we deceive ourselves into thinking we are in the will of God. Our connection to God can often become so weak and scrambled that one soon becomes content to quietly sit in church and watch everyone else fill the needs which are encountered. That is until the Holy Spirit intercedes to correct ones coarse using whatever method God chooses. After all we been warned of such in 1 Timothy 4:16 (NLT), Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you. It helps to remember that when we fall so far behind God that we can no longer hear His voice, “He can still hear ours”. 1 John 1:9 (NLT), But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
The bible teaches us that God works at variable speeds which we have little understanding of. 2 Peter 3:8 (NLT), But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. Even though we don’t have the capacity to totally comprehend God’s timing (speed), we know we’re to trust in His sovereignty to know what is best for us. We know from within our deepest depts that we are right where we’re expected to be when we are daily living Matthew 6:33-34 (NLT), 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. My desire (and I pray yours also) is to walk, run or wait right beside The Heavenly Father, ready to do His bidding as I hear His voice.
My prayer this week for everyone who reads this far is, Galatians 6:9-10 (NLT), 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. 10 Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone; especially to those in the family of faith. Help us Lord that we may abundantly reap that which we sow. Amen
HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
