Basic Training

Basic Training

It seems most of the media advertisements today have to do with or at least insinuate we need to get back to basic of whatever the situation is. Then they proceed to explain how you can accomplish this feat with minimal cost or effort. Usually within the small print, you find all results are based on additional factors, such as exercise, diet, expensive complicated equipment or specific confusing instruction, and many more I’m sure. It turns out that most of man’s “getting back to basics” has some sort of hidden agenda for profit motive.

I felt God say, He wants all His people to get back to biblical basics! In-which explains how God wants His human creations to live this life in preparation for the next. First thing; Ephesians 2:10 (ESV), For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. We are God’s workmanship, created in His image to live according to His will, in which we failed and fail miserably! God destroyed cities and the sin continued, He destroyed nations, yet sin continued, He (God) finally destroyed the world with water saving Noah and his family and 2 of each animal, still sin survived. Genesis 6:5 (ESV), The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

This is the point where I see the love of God in its fullness! God could have easily given up on our species, annihilated us and created a more loyal being of compassion. Instead He (God) chose to work with His creation in two totally opposite extremes! He first came to earth (our level) as Jesus to example His ways are better and can be lived out. Second in His coming to earth He created a way that we could be made righteous to join Him in heaven (His level) one day. John 14:6 (ESV), Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Also, Matthew 6:33 (ESV), But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Now that is pure, unconditional love, in that God loved us enough in our sin to give us a way out through the risen savior Jesus Christ.

Our basic spiritual basic training starts with 1 John 4:19 (ESV), We love because he first loved us. It is important to know, we are born without love, we have need but no love. Sadly about 50% (conservative) of today’s population will perish without a clear understanding of love, as most will experience infatuation or lust and think its love. Even worse the majority of the 50% will leave this earth completely devoted only to themselves! God gives us the ability to love in Ezekiel 11:19-20 (ESV), 19 And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, 20 that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. Once we are born of the second birth, God gives us a heart that we can show and share His love through.

The churches are filled with teaching and sermons on living and serving God, the media today has many, many versions of how we should serve and live for God. As well we come up with our own interpretation of how we should live and serve God to add into the other teachings, until we’re finally way off course. That is when we feel Holy Spirit start to nudge, nag and prod us in a different direction. Unless we get back to basics, we lose our peace, our attitude wanes, our joy can no longer be seen. The bible tells us in Romans 1:18-20 (ESV), 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So, they are without excuse.

Bottom line to biblical basic training comes from Luke 10:27 (ESV), And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” If we will form a loving relationship with Jesus, talking with Him daily seeking to understand who He is, believing He can do what He said He can do and allowing Him into our innermost most abyss. Then and only then will everything else fall into place. Jesus is the reason for our new creation, Jesus is our mediator to God and Jesus is our brother if we’re born again. But for the love of Jesus this life would be oppressed and void of peace.

My prayer this week is from Matthew 6:9-13 (ESV), 9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
