Living falsely with a positive?

Sunday’s Monday

Are we living falsely with a positive?

I have something I was given many years ago and I think it truly fits I this worlds situation of today. I learned “Satan cannot stop God from answering my prayers ergo his only option is to stop me from praying.” A few years ago, God added “Satan is a master at misdirecting my thoughts and then misconstruing (in my mind) the content of my prayers.” Today it is obvious, the world’s focus is on this pandemic of Coronavirus (covid– 19) and all the confusion surrounding it. Which makes for the perfect breeding ground for Satan to distract us from a solid, sold out, healthy relationship with Jesus, to mediocre at best. To aid in a better understanding on this subject, I went to Google Dictionary which defines distraction as; 1- A thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else. A diversion or recreation. 2- Extreme agitation of the mind or emotions.

God in his inspired word explains in 2 Corinthians 11:3 (NLT), But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.Distracted by Satan’s prompts from God’s instructions Eve’s thought’s and desire became so fixed on the fruit from the Tree Of Knowledge that her resolve in God became frail and her obedience collapsed committing human’s first sin. In Genesis 3: we are told that the woman (Eve) gave some of the fruit to man (Adam) and he ate it. The bible doesn’t elaborate but one is lead to the thought that Adam being distracted by his trust in his partner (Eve) strayed and failed. The fruit became more important than the will of God and disobedience of God’s instruction changed this world forever. I felt God’s confirming that He wills we should bring family and friends before him in discernment before trusting them. As I heard it said on an old TV show this morning, “You may like them, too much, to know them.” (Let this sink in for a moment!)

Satan is still hard at work and over thousands of years has perfected distraction into his greatest tool of deception. Most of today’s Christian’s are living a fraudulent blissful life of falsehood to God’s written word. Here’s a quick example, the church gets a new pastor who preaches on a personal relationship with Jesus and it exposes flaws in one’s current life. Instead of seeking to change said position with Jesus, one chooses to change churches where busyness is never in question and lifestyles are seldom challenged. One example of this comes from Luke 10:40-42 (NLT), 40 But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” 41 But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! 42 There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” Two sisters, each love Jesus and yet they had two completely different lifestyles in serving Him. I don’t think either was meant for wrong, however Mary’s method of service was complete attention to Jesus allowing no distraction whereas Martha’s busyness allowed for the distraction of jealousy.

All too often Christian’s fall for Satan’s distraction of busyness! As human reasoning would conceive this to be a safe place in which to conceal our lack of knowledge, confusion, fear, low self-esteem, it soon becomes a place of comfort in that busyness allows for a multitude of excuses to allow us from being found out. Please, think about today’s situation as you read Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT), 15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly but understand what the Lord wants you to do. The bible gives us stories of a great flood, man in a lion’s den, men in a fiery furnace, situations orchestrated not by man, but for God. Men not open to Satan’s distraction, men of integrity, men who loved God enough to trust Him fully. God sets every stage for each event and as followers we are to be faithful to trust in His instructions. Just as God inspired in Psalm 46:10 (NLT), “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

As awful as this pandemic is with death, sickness, hardship and this shelter in place order. Now is the time for a reconciliation with our Lord Jesus, then may we that wonderful peace of an honest, loving relationship with our savior. King David had and has it right in Psalm 27:4 (NLT), 4 The one thing I ask of the Lord - the thing I seek most - is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. We seriously need to ask Jesus what is distracting me and will you help me to overcome them. Once we make Jesus our number one priority we can truly rejoice in Jesus! Read Isaiah 41:10 (NLT), 10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Glory to our RISEN SAVIOR who is not dead!!

I pray The Hope of Eternal Life, 1 Peter 1:3-7 (NLT), 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. 5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. 6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So, when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. Amen

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
