Ignoring Ignorance!
Sunday’s Monday Ignoring Ignorance!
During this time of testing with this pandemic of corona virus (covid-19), we all have the time to take stock of our relationship with Jesus. We need to look at such things as, how much truth we know about what is happening today and to what extent do we actually know ourselves as well as, our knowledge of current relationships. These are just a few questions out of a plethora of questions that we should be constantly and consistently seeking the answers to (for ourselves). The key here is to eradicate as much of our ignorance as is humanly possible which requires effort, time, and commitment. I read this quote earlier and believe it to be relevant in today’s world, “Ignorance is a voluntary misfortune.” Author Anonymous God’s inspired word tell us in Ephesians 4:18 (NKJV), Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; Most of this world gives little thought (if any at all) to the level of ignorance we choose to live or survive in. Our knowledge (which is the direct opposite of ignorance) bears witness to this through our daily decision making, our attitude and our overall joy of life. For example, our beliefs and values will determine our actions, as we cannot act in a manner that is contrary to our beliefs for prolong periods of time. In-which each of us prove in some form or fashion everyday! Start taking notice to your actions, intentionally thinking about your belief to the situation. Should we believe it is dangerous, we will act differently than if we think it safe. I remember the G.I. Joe cartoon character saying, "Knowing Is Half the Battle." God’s inspired word warns us in Mark 12:24 (NKJV), 24 Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God? During my research, I came across this quote, “To know that you do not know, is the best. To think you know when you do not, is a disease. Recognizing this disease as a disease is to be free of it.” Lao Tzu. It is imperative for us to truthfully EXAMINE ourselves to find our strengths and weaknesses, to know what areas of life fall into which category and make a commitment to transform the weaknesses into strengths as well we must scrutinize our strengths to assure each are correct and growing stronger. God’s word speaks to this in John 6:25-26 (NKJV), 25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?” 26 Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. How many people today fall into this category of ignorance. They didn’t seek Jesus for what they couldn’t understand! Like those of that day People today seek Him for those things which they can see, taste, and feel. It breaks my heart to see people using the Jesus in a lamp mentality, to where they only get close to Him when there is trouble or need. The majority will openly proclaim to love Jesus, yet secretly choose to live in daily sin and believe they are living out God’s will, as their sin is forgiven. I recently read a quote that relates, “Living is easy with eyes closed.” John Lennon. As well, Jesus touched on this type of ignorance in Romans 6:14-15 (NKJV), 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Truth is, in today’s world we have no excuses for our lack of knowledge in any area. We have the technology to find any information we required and / or desired. The problem is most of us are lazy and will not spend the effort essential to gaining any knowledge. We all tend to subscribe to that old saying, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is, and we find the probably is to be the easiest way out. Jesus spoke to this in John 6:36 (NKJV), But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. Most of us are failing because we haven’t gotten a full grip on this quote from W. Clement Stone, “Truth will always be truth, regardless of lack of understanding, disbelief or ignorance.” John 17:17 (NKJV), Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. My prayer this week for all of us is from 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NKJV), 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. And Mark 9:24 (NKJV), Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Amen HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
