Living The Lie!
Sunday’s Monday
It is easy for us to sit in church or in a spiritual setting and speak of our love for one another. Mainly because it is not tested and mostly because we are gathered with like kind. Truth is the majority of people living today have little practical knowledge of the love of Jesus. We think we do and therein lies the problem! We think, without seeking the wisdom of Jesus, and improperly implement or manufacture the actions and emotions we believe to match that which we’ve learned. Again, most of us don’t have a clue of how far off we are when it comes to the love of Jesus. For example, we read in Romans 8:1-2 (TPT), 8 So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One. 2 For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death. No condemnation! How many can honestly admit that they have no condemnation toward others? When we meet a stranger, do we not have first impression judgments, do we skip the prying into their past to see if they qualify and are, we readily accepting of others just as they are. We are given the task of offering love “with mercy” to each other just as God has love and mercy for us. My philosophy has become over time; To offer love without mercy, is not the love of Jesus, it is a lie from Satan, a self-direction of recognition seeking personal ovations. Whereas love with the mercy of Jesus, is the greatest truth Jesus ever taught and God has given it His full power to heal the biased, restore the spirit, as it engages the hearts of man. Ephesians 2:4-5 (TPT), 4 But God still loved us with such great love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy. 5 Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace! Without grace love is just another insignificant word we throw at people! The time is here to face our reflection and decide if the me others see, is the real me mentally, physically, and spiritually. I’ll be the first to admit that I battle with prejudice, I’m often too quick to judge others and I sometimes find myself discreetly operating in the realm of condemnation because of it. Over the years God has opened my eyes to the fact, that I have the disease of prejudice without showing any signs of its symptoms. I unknowingly have undesirable feelings, thoughts, perceptions which I’ve hidden from myself and because I believed I was good, I failed to search them out as I continued a lifestyle under their influence. My good news is, I have been in cooperation with Jesus to flush this garbage completely out of my system! I soon discovered that every time I met (and meet) with God on this subject the word MERCY comes up. My love is weak with mercy and I have to depend on Jesus to strengthen my weakness daily. The bible speaks on this in Hebrews 4:16 (TPT), So now we come freely and boldly to where love is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness. There is a lot of talk in the Christian community about the ripple effect, which stems from the cause and effect theory. Using the example of a stone tossed into the water causing a displacement of liquid and that energy is dispersed through ripples until it’s completely diminished. However, there is another side to this thought which most of us miss. A tsunami out in the vast ocean is nothing more than ripples with an unrecognized destructive force hidden in the depths. The tsunami will pass directly under boats without notice and dissipate unless it hits the shore where it becomes an unstoppable monster. The same is true of our camouflaged innermost feelings, which we don’t know exist until they surface. Yet the whole time these hidden feelings go unchallenged they are secretly directing our actions and controlling our character. Condemnation 101! 1 John 3:18 (TPT), Beloved children, our love can’t be an abstract theory we only talk about, but a way of life demonstrated through our loving deeds. Love, real Jesus love is an action not a mere word and that action is girded with guidelines found in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Read, self-examine, and know Jesus loves us unconditionally! My prayer this week contain two scriptures which speak volumes toward living and loving like that of Jesus. Psalm 139:23-24 (TPT), 23 God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. 24 See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways - the path that brings me back to you. And Lord I pray we all receive 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT), 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. Amen HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
