CASUALTY OF CAUSALITY!

Sunday’s Monday

There is a lot to be said about today’s Christianity in that only about ¼ are striving to follow Jesus, as ¼ are trying too hard to work their way into heaven, while ¼ are satisfied with where they are on God’s narrow path and then there’s ¼ simply living the status quo in merely attending services and meetings. FYI: I got to tell you; I have no hardcore information to back up the percentages, but it serves to paint a picture in your mind. Using fourths to illustrate the point seemed a simple way to not overcomplicate the thought process as Christians are desperately struggling with a host of mind-boggling propositions of good and evil. This is where causality comes into play! If we’re not doing anything to prevent the cause, then we will by default become a casualty! However, when we properly prepare for the battle through prayer, commitment, and faith in God we will obtain a strong resistance to the cause, ergo avoid becoming a CASUALTY OF CAUSALITY. Deuteronomy 20:4 (NLT), For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!

Paul the Apostle wrote of the tools God gave us to ward off the war of our enemy, They’re found in Ephesians 6:11-12 (NLT), 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Unfortunately, not enough is preached, taught, or exampled on the subject of God’s Armor. Many Christians have heard of it but not many have a good grip on the dynamics that take place. You may wish to study this subject for yourself as I will have to be brief because of space.

I have researched this through the internet and used some snippets from bibleinfo.com. We find in Ephesians 6:13-17 (NLT),13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. I realize to some this is old news but to many, it could be an awakening as to a better way to withstand the battle that Jesus has already won, and we just have to follow Him through it to get His victory. Here is my take on the full armor of God. The Belt of Truth - served two purposes; First, it refers to the truths of Scripture as opposed to the lies of Satan. The second is, it’s holding together the full armor of God, to aid in our living a life that is transparent, upright, and without deceit. The Breastplate of Righteousness - protects you against all of Satan’s accusations and charges. This righteousness is not made up of the good deeds you do, it is a gift freely given to those who love God. The Bible says that none of us can create righteousness within ourselves. The Gospel of Peace - As soldiers of Christ, we must put on “gospel shoes” that will allow us to march wherever our Lord leads. They are comfortably rugged and studded with iron to stand firm. The Shield of Faith - God gives us a measure of faith and as we walk with Him, our faith grows and develops until it becomes a shield, protecting us and allowing us to live a victorious life in Christ. The Helmet of Salvation – protects the most vital part of the body since it is the seat of our thoughts. When we have a sure knowledge of our salvation, we will not be moved by Satan’s deceptions. The Sword of the Spirit - The sword of the spirit is the only weapon of offense listed in the armor of God. All the other parts are defensive in nature. God’s Word. "the Bible,” is described as “living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.” Jesus repeatedly used scripture in each of Satan’s efforts to lead Him into sin, Jesus replied, “it is written and proceeded to quote Scripture to destroy Satan’s temptations. We can do this “if” we’re truly following Jesus!

My prayer is from Romans 13:12-14 (NLT), 12 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. 13 Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. 14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires. Lord may we all fall prostrate before you, seeking your strength and wisdom when the evil one attacks. May you always be the first we call on! Amen
