CHAOS FINES ORDER!

Sunday’s Monday

Someone stated that watching people reminded them of a kaleidoscope from their childhood, and how they enjoyed watching all those people swirling and moving around just like the color pieces inside the kaleidoscope. As soon as I heard this comparison, I knew that God wanted me to write about it because He gave me this thought before the man finished speaking. I envisioned a mall full of people with everyone crazily scurrying and shuffling around, darting in and out of stores like the colors inside a kaleidoscope. Then the thought hit me of just how beautiful the chaotic swirling and shuffling was because I could see that each person just as any particular color in the toy had its specific purpose to fulfill in the proper operation. Then I was given this thought, when I see (or think I see) chaos, I could simply be observing growth. After all, when I surrendered all to God, I thought my life was in total chaos and it was, however, it was a controlled chaos meant for teaching purposes. God used my past to prepare me for the future He designed for me! As it is written in 1 Timothy 1:16 (NLT), But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life.

I have been reading a book titled Spiritual Growth 101: by Alyssa J Howard and she has a statement that is so appropriate for this article, “God uses your past to fulfill His plans for the future. Because He who began a good work in you will be faithful to finish it.” Just as the kaleidoscope toy is designed to fit intricately together to where the colors have movement without interfering withal the other colors. Just as the toy is designed to enhance and enable the user to visualize the beauty within the game so are we to engage and encourage each other to see the beauty within Jesus. Many will become weary and get lost in all the chaos of everyone scrambling to complete their list. For some the process often becomes to overbearing as well as severely draining, concerning Paul enough to leave his own reprimand and instruction in 1 Timothy 1:5 (NLT), The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.

Again, Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (NLT), 12 If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been there at some point and a great many of us were on the ledge ready to check out when this scripture found new life in us. We finally accepted God’s way out and immediately felt Him take the burden as relief took its place. My relief came through God opening doors with the people I needed at that moment standing on the other side willing to help me get up and stay up. I became the period to Paul’s writing in 1 Timothy 1:15 (NLT), This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” - and I am the worst of them all.

Today, I pray the words recorded by Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 1:12-15 (NLT), 12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him, 13 even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ. In my insolence, I persecuted his people. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief. 14 Oh, how generous and gracious our Lord was! He filled me with the faith and love that come from Christ Jesus. We have learned to accept life for what it is, amusingly confusing, and seriously misunderstood in the way God meant for it to be, 1 Timothy 1:17 (NLT), 17 All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen
