CONFABULATION! (Filling the gaps)
Sunday’s Monday
CONFABULATION!
(Filling the gaps)
It took a 14-year-old girl to remind me of the value of good communication between people. We as a people are losing or have lost the art of good old fashion honest communication. Take note of the definition of communication, Communication is the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs: something imparted, interchanged, or transmitted, and compare it with its root word communion which is defined as, an interchange or sharing of thoughts or emotions; an intimate communication. Until we open ourselves up to another person, they will never understand who we are. This young lady had given up fighting the hopeless battle with her parents and allowed her rebellion to become uncontrollable. As the girl explained, she was born into an abusive family, and being raised that way she accepted the abuse and even learned to be abusive as well. She used the example of windows and doors, as she explained, if you are taught at birth that a window is called a door and a door is called a window and that’s all you ever hear, then the window is a door, and the door is a window. To simplify her point, if a child is born into an abusive family and nothing ever changes then the abusive treatment becomes the norm, and they learn to tolerate and expect it and even become abusive themselves. As parents we are instructed in Ephesians 6:4 (ESV), Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Through the grace of God, this young lady at the age of 14 received a dose of culture shock when God opened her eyes to a life-changing revelation. God through the hearts of caring counselors, coaxed and persuaded her to meet (face to face) with her dad to pour out her heart to him. Whatever her thoughts toward him, how she felt about him, about what was wrong or right with the family, her uncensored feelings of a 14-year-old trying desperately to make sense of the world. The counselor set it up and the young lady filled with anxiety and fear met with her dad. She opened up to him and it seemed the more she said the more God gave her to say. At the end of the session, the girl discovered that God had used her actions to meet the demons tormenting her and her family through misinformation, misunderstanding, and miscommunication. She found the power and wisdom spoken of in, Ephesians 6:19 (ESV), and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel.
Unknowing beforehand that, her open conversation with her dad, would start to silence everything that was a mis in their lives. Her action has created an avenue for reconciliation as well as the restoration of their relationship. Her dad wept openly as he caught a glimpse of life as seen through her 14-year-old eyes, and it broke his heart. This brave little girl found the most important message she may ever learn: “There can be no relationship, without open communications!” As Paul the Apostle writes in, Ephesians 6:21(ESV), So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything.
I thank God that there are specific ministries and sanctuaries that will take in those misconceived, mistreated, and misguided children. The networks Jesus has set up to shelter, protect and show His love to these little ones. For many, the truth of Jesus will turn their lives around, just as it is doing for the young 14-year-old, who recently learned the true value of communications. As Jesus followers, we need to be vigilant and receptive to viewing every situation through the eyes of Jesus, always ready to act according to God’s will. May God bless this young lady and the millions of children who don’t get to experience a person filled with God’s love on a daily basis.
My prayer for you today is, Ephesians 6:23-24 (ESV), 23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible. Father God, open our hearts to people who need these words today. May they be drawn by your love to place their hope in you for a better tomorrow. May we be that example you use to draw them into your family. Amen
HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
