EVEN THE FOUND GET LOST!
Sunday’s Monday
Every person reading this is looking for something, not one of us is alive for no reason. Some are hoping for financial or physical help, others are looking for comfort in companionship, we all are searching for more and different, but thankfully there are still a few who are wholeheartedly seeking God’s wisdom. This has been the case since Cain and Able in Genesis 4, where Cane was searching to be more. Another example from Matthew 11:2-3 (NLT), 2 John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So, he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, 3 “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?” Everyone is seeking someone or something 24/7/365. Cane wanted to be more while John desired to find Jesus. Cane had his agenda guiding his search, while John had God’s agenda leading him. They both found and yet received different outcomes. Cain received a curse from God, while John received abundant blessings. Honestly! Think seriously about your life, your agenda versus God’s agenda, and which will bring forth the fruits of your hope? Take a few minutes to ponder this no-brainer, using your past as a measuring guide!
I have repeated this remark for a lot of years until God proved to me how stupid it was. “It’s my way or the highway!” No wonder I spent most of my life hanging with those of a weaker mindset than I! However, I did learn, one will never hold the lead, dragging someone else’s chains! God showed me I can’t compete equally in this world dragging just my own chains because, I’m not equipped. Just as John The Baptist sought out Jesus, so did I when my chains became completely unbearable. My problem was, as most are, I had no clue of what I was looking for, therefore I couldn’t see the solutions which were all around me. Every day Jesus is performing miracles that were not catching my attention anymore and sadly, most testimonies given today of God’s miracles, have been nursed and rehearsed to please and capture the attention of an audience and the miracle loses heart appeal in the process. I find in Matthew 11:4-5 (NLT), 4 Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen, 5 the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.” Simple, unpolished, and flowing purely from the heart!
Now please! Don’t jump off the deep end and assume I’m being negative when in fact I’m not. I believe Jesus is the light of salvation and the only door to heaven. Jesus clearly says in Matthew 11:28 (NLT), Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Therefore, if you’re seeking to receive temporal pleasure from the world, look to the world, it will deliver, however, if you're seeking eternal hope and peace it can only come through Jesus. I promise, you’ll never come into the presence of God and walk away the same as you came! That’s God for ya!
Truth is, you may read this article without finding what you are in search of, the fact is, you may never receive what you’re looking and hoping for, as it may not be in your best interest at this time. I know! You think differently than God and you think you know what is best, but I remind you, “so did Cain”. Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:29 (NLT), Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Jesus is not a man of magic or wizardry; He doesn’t wave His hands and all our troubles just disappear. Jesus is the son of God, who only has our best interest at heart, and He will use unrestricted methods to grow us according to His will. Jesus (the teacher) will be there to teach us as we go. Contrary to popular belief, God’s answer to prayer may not be, the way we want, as quick as we want or what we want. Because God seeks only what is best for us and only God knows what is best for us today, to serve us well in our future! Thus, all our seeking should start and end with GOD! As found in Matthew 6:33 (NLT), Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
My prayer for us this week is from Ephesians 1:18-20 (NLT), 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called, his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. 19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Lord, may we reassess what we (think) we want now, to find how it aligns with your will for us. I pray each of us will dig a little deeper into your word to better understand the confident hope you’ve availed to us. Amen
HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
