HELP ME! MY WAY!

I’ve begun pondering on this subject while unstacking some of the mental boxes from my subconscious that may need discarding. It helps me to inventory my spiritual mental state with God to replenish the old and needless with a new vision. Today I came across some questionable things, as God and I examined memories for righteous value, and this thought came to me. Why do people seek help and then not heed the advice given? Looking into my past, I found that I often sought immediate help for a particular situation, and the advice I received required a total life change, which was a much larger step than I intended to take. That being said, I chose to fix the issue my way and was able to merely appease the issue rather than solve it. To which a few months down the road, I faced the same issue and again sought help, hoping their advice would be more acceptable. To my chagrin, the words were virtually the same and a life change was suggested. Again, I went off to handle things my way. You see, I listened to what they said, without hearing a word! In one ear and out the other. Insane, right! Exactly!
Nevertheless, I realize “now,” everyone I’ve ever spoken with on any subject has planted a seed within me, even if I didn’t respect what was said, they left advice for future use. WOW! I have had contact with thousands of people over the past 71 years and it's mind-blowing to think that each has left something with me and hopefully I with them. As it is written in John 4:37-38 (NLT), 37 You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvest.’ And it’s true. 38 I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.” I believe our focus today has moved more to the harvest side of this scripture. Many seek the harvest to avoid doing the work in which in doing so, they produce and plant bad seeds. Providing less to harvest along with fewer harvesters for the future.
Far too many skim through the bible, scarcely learning what it teaches, bending, and twisting each verse into that which best suits their comfort. We fail to realize that we are contaminating the seed we’re now sowing with the world, not in the world. At this point, one has partnered with Satan to produce bad seeds of confusion, condemnation, and control. However, in John 4:42 (NLT), Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.” They believed because they heard Jesus, the woman merely planted the seed of Jesus, who was, and is, the life-giver of the crop. I believe that the story the woman told had no life within her words for the hearers until they heard them from Jesus. Jesus set forth the question in John 4:48 (NLT), Jesus asked, “Will you never believe in me unless you see miraculous signs and wonders?” This is where many Christians live today!
Satan is blinding them with the business of the world to keep them from seeing the miracles that are consistently happening. Truth is, some can’t believe in God’s miracles because not much is happening within them. I’ve heard my pastor say, the greatest miracle Jesus performs is that of a changed life! Jesus is still performing the miracle of no end, where hearts both old and new are being changed daily! In this, every area of life is undergoing constant change, as serving Jesus becomes obviously clear. This is a natural symptom of Jesus dwelling within, producing good seed! Truthfully, this is where the rubber meets the road, the map if you will, to receive the better life Jesus promises in Ephesians 5:15-16, James 1:12, and Psalm 119:50. However, rule number one is you must die too self-daily! Half-stepping, manipulating scripture, putting God on pause, or seeking only the advice advantageous to your desire is out. Jesus speaks clearly to this in John 5:44 (NLT), No wonder you can’t believe! For you gladly honor each other, but you don’t care about the honor that comes from the one who alone is God. Remember, this bringing glory to oneself through people-pleasing, is what has one where they are. No matter your status, belief, culture, or race, you are the heavy anchor holding your life in place, now is the time to cut the rope and find the forward movement Jesus has for you. A life of loving Jesus fuels the mind to endless joy and accomplishment as there is seldom a dull moment, following His will.
I pray we all live by James 1:21 (NLT), So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. That God’s seed will grow and multiply with each passing day, being renewed each morning through our obedience. Amen
