RESPECT! LACKING OR LOVING
Sunday’s Monday
I’ve had to stop watching all media news, I scrutinize social media and even filter some online sermons. The majority of everyone in today’s world has an attitude and temperament equal to that of a Pepsi Cola and an Alka-Seltzer. One word can turn a civil conversation into an altercation equal to that biblical proportion. If you’ve never tried this take a half glass of Pepsi and drop in an Alka-Seltzer tablet and witness the eruption. Now with this example in mind compare it to some conversations you may have had or overheard recently where normal conversations have changed in tone, volume, and intent, in a millisecond. It seems people of today have lost all tolerance, respect, and concern for anyone who doesn’t think as they do. This especially applies to U.S. Citizens who have the idea that freedom and rights are based on what they believe them to be.
News Flash! We’re not that free! We of the U.S.A. may have a lot of privileges other countries don’t but we are all under the control of a government, a belief system, and yes, our own desires imprison us. Which is exactly what the king of this world is trying to hide from the multitudes’ by offering the belief of false freedom along with the idea of prosperity. Today we hear a lot about equality and other issues that insight division in today’s political climate with all the mumbo-jumbo that supports hate. Help me out here, I don’t understand why for years, we’ve let this go on! Why is no one from any side saying, let us as leaders set down and figure this thing out. Every race, every gender and every human life deserves respect! It seems, what no one is announcing is, in order for one to receive respect, they must first learn to give respect. This is something that God started thousands of years ago and man has tried to hide it. It’s titled the law of reaping and sowing in Galatians 6:7 (NLT), Don’t be misled, you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. If a person seeks or desires to reap respect, he or she must first prepare the fields (people) by sowing a crop of respectful acts and deeds into their lives.
Truth is, God has given us the keys for eternal peace in which too few choose to accept as wisdom. We find in Matthew 22:37 (NLT), Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all our heart, all your soul, and all your mind. Now, this is not a suggestion this is the way to live life as God intended! If we choose to love God as Matthew 22:37 then we find the keys to His kingdom hidden within Matthew 7:12 (NLT), “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets. God’ ways in this are so clear that most all young children understand them and yet we adults are continually trying to circumvent God system. Like it or not this generation is mainly of our own making!
I believe where most all of us are missing the boat, is in thinking so highly of ourselves, that everyone who doesn’t think as we do is less or lower than we are. The bible warns of this in Romans 12:3 (NLT), Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. Over the millennia of generations our tolerance and understanding have steadily fallen by the wayside as we’re drifting further from the word and will of God with each passing year. However, it’s not to late to turn things around God’s word tells us in Matthew 6:33 (NLT), Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Remember to be that which you desire from others!
My prayer this week is for Jesus to take us all out to our prayer closet (wood shed) and help us fully understand what is written in John 13:34-35 (NLT), 34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” And while we’re on our knees Lord, remind us of Matthew 25:40 (NLT), 40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!” Amen
HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
