WALKING IN WONDERMENT!!
Sunday’s Monday
Most living today are walking around oblivious to what is taking place in the spirit realm, and how it is affecting our lives. A lot of us, are trying to live a respectful life to please both the spiritual and the physical worlds. We feel safe because we are not actively involved in jealousy, greed, cheating, adultery, etc. which we believe to be sin. I recently had my mind blown and my eyes opened when brother Duane Parker told the BOB Group that pride, jealousy, greed, cheating, adultery, etc. “is not sin”, these offenses are merely the FRUIT’s of sin (…or “sinning.”) The true sin is, we have lost or maybe never had a heart for God. These fruits can only manifest when we either revert to or continue living a self-centered life. Pastor Duane said, “If we can recognize this simple truth and quit being distracted by all the bad fruit, then maybe we can let the Holy Spirit open our spiritual understanding and help us live out Galatians 2:20 (NASB), I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
I grew up believing it’s wrong to wonder about God because that is doubting Him and I guess there is some merit to that type of thinking, although it is not very satisfying. To me doubt and wonder are different as is found in dictionary.com; doubt, to be uncertain about; consider questionable or unlikely; hesitate to believe. I needed more stability in my belief than the bible says so, ergo, doubt kindled the birth of wonderment in me. In which dictionary.com; wonder, is to speculate curiously or be curious about; be curious to know. I had a curiosity to know why I doubted God, which birthed a one-on-one connection between He and myself. I began to walk through life in a state of wonderment, looking for God and what He was doing in and around me every day constantly asking how and where He desired for me to act. I read in Ephesians 1:17 (NASB), that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I’m wide open for that knowledge!
My walk through this world has become stimulated through the wonders of God. So many people can’t see how God is working in their lives and need a little reminder. Others just need a gentle touch from Jesus, someone to listen, or someone to hug, which they will never get from me if my heart is not for God. I am amazed at how people isolate themselves from God while in sin when He is the only one with the love and power to help. To go back to what Pastor Duane said about sin, I believe it’s more obvious than ever that people discover how to wonder walk. We seriously need to wonder things like, who am I, why was I chosen to be born, what is my purpose in life, and where do I get answers? To which I answer, start on your knees (let’s pray together), then turn to the owner’s manual (the bible), and I highly recommend finding a mentor to help you understand the, who, what, when, and why. It helped me to surround myself with people who I believe to have a stronger relationship with God than I, and observe how they live. Then finally remember how it feels to be heartless, helpless, and hopeless without God as you share God’s compassion with others. John 15:5 (NASB), I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. Find Jesus, Live Life! Praying daily; Matthew 6:10 Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
My prayer this week is found in Ephesians 1. Lord I ask that you remove the veil from our eyes and cause us to wonder what Apostle Paul is saying to each heart in, Ephesians 1:18-21(NASB), 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. What do we believe? Please! Grant each of us the doubt to wonder where you fit in on the list of things in our heart. Are we internally at war in our hearts because you’re not number one to us or has deceit become the ruling factor of our existence? Father, I pray today that you send the tears of your spirit to wash our hearts clean, and cause us to seek your heart as our own. Just as it is written in Psalm 51:10 (NASB), Create in me a clean heart, God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. To you be the glory, honor, and praise. Amen
