Sunday’s Monday
Our youngest granddaughter (Samantha Findley) celebrated her 11th birthday on Thursday and we couldn’t be prouder of her. I attended the Conover, NC (home run) observance for the National Day of Prayer in Conover, NC Thursday and then God topped of the day with a fantastic Brother Night North Meeting. Thursday was a very blessed day! Then we packed up all of my enthusiasm and made our way to the beach this weekend, man was it great and very much needed! To God be the glory!
I would like to ponder on a subject in which I found myself in the middle of several different conversations all with the same subject matter and none of the three knew each other. There is so much confusion in the minds of people today and they can’t get rid of the junk that steals their peace and joy. All three conversations started with, “I’m not worthy, I have no value because I struggle and fail so much, I just fall to short, for God to answer my prayers.” All of these false expectations are wrong, in every sense! Yet, they are so easy to believe, because it requires nothing! Satan knows each of us better than we know ourselves and he “also” has a plan for our life. On the other hand, to bring our minds to resolution, to find our spirit’s peace, to fill our hearts with love, requires effort! To answer those things that are burning a hole in our soul, we must find someone who personally lives God daily, to read and study with us. We must have a God loving support group and one needs a passionate follower of Jesus as a mentor. Remember, Proverbs 13:20 ESV, whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. To start the journey out of this darkness of wonder and doubt, confusion and condemnation, shame and guilt. One must realize each category comes with its own individual set of feelings. Beginning with wonder and doubt; what does God really thinks of me, I hope I’m going to heaven, how can God love me, I’m not sure God hears me. 1 John 4:9-11 (ESV), 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Now confusion and condemnation, go hand in hand as we condemn ourselves based on the confusion of our past plus the now. We must learn that we are not to condemn ourselves or anyone else. 1 John 3:20 ESV, for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. Grab the words, “God Is GREATER! Romans 8:1 ESV, there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Shame and guilt will rob us for life no! Shame and guilt will rob us of life! 1 Peter 3:18 ESV, For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. Jesus has already paid for that which shames us once we repent, then we forgive ourselves. I hope this next verse brings a smile of renewed hope to your face and that you will repeat it till you believe it. 1 Corinthians 1:2 (ESV), To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours: If you love and follow Jesus, “you are a saint!” Today, right now, if you are serving and loving Jesus, you are a saint! Ephesians 2:10 ESV, for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Please note; God doesn’t make junk! 2 Peter 1:4 (ESV), by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. It may sound foolish now but read these verses every morning for 30 days and experience the difference God will make.
