Men Matter's

Sunday’s Monday

I have truly enjoyed this week! I got to work with my grandson everyday this week, I was able to attend the annual Meals on Wheels Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast in which (sadly) is made up of predominantly seniors. On that same day I was blessed to attend our monthly Brother Night meeting and it was absolutely great! I thank God for opening doors and allowing me to connect with the hearts of others.

This week I have received a new (old) revelation from God and it is something I’ve known in the mind but have failed to grant it the attention in which God intended. Now please don’t stop reading ladies, as this writing highlights some serious stumbling blocks for men. I am amazed that the male of our species is still around! We’ve evolved so little since our beginning, in teaching men about matters of the heart. Being a male, I was raised and groomed from birth to be strong, hide my emotions (men don’t cry), independent (self-reliant, needing no one), proud (high opinion of self), ambitious (self-gain), and this is merely the tip of the misgivings that we instill into our son’s. I liken it to teaching them Ecclesiastes 12:13 ESV, the end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man and then stopping the spiritual lessons. Which leaves us hanging in adulthood with mass confusion as we try desperately to fill in the gaps. A lot of us end up going to church only to find ourselves living James 1:8 ESV, He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. I’ve heard it said for years and never understood how it worked until God exposed it in my own life. The doubled mindedness was killing me and everything I hoped for. It affected every area of my earthly life as well it was keeping me from living a joyful spiritual life. Searching for more than, became my whole life! I tried being good which was empty, I live life according to my upbringing and that was hollow and reward less. I’ve lived alone in my personal desert, as well I lived with a wife and family in-which had no chance because I was unstable. I was living one disastrous mess which was growing exponentially by the day as I replaced on bad habit, attitude and action with another that was even worse. I had no idea that nothing could or would ever improve until I faced my worst enemy (ME) to overcome and conquer. Even though I didn’t understand how to overcome and was scared to death of what was to come. I gave in to what God was calling me to be and took His hand to discover His plan for my life. Isaiah 41:10 ESV, Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand and my journey with God began. The first thing God shared with me is Matthew 12:29 ESV, or how can someone enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. God bound the old me and sent His earthly servants to plunder my life exposing those things which would bring harm and degradation to my relationship with Jesus. It took a while for me to realize just how important God’s chosen mentors were and would be to me. I am not created to deal with life on my own! The good things of life are so much greater when shared with others, just as the bad (unwanted) things of life are not as devastating when in the company of those who care. I am, after some 20 years discovering the joy and pleasure of getting to really know others, which is so much more than simply knowing of someone. God has given me a craving of heart touching heart and through this has brought me into brothernight.org, where a man can learn what a Godly man should be. Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV), 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Word to the wise; Men forget about becoming a successful earthly man and seek to be the man God created you to be. You deserve the joy, love and peace that will follow.

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
