Purpose, Passion and Testimony

Sunday’s Monday

Man, oh man! This has been a week of life and blessings. For every situation that life brought forth, God had a resolution for it. I see God at work in so many little things in every area of my life. I can’t get thankful enough for His protection and provision! I had another fabulous week of working with my youngest grandson Adam Findley. We’ve made some wonderful memories this summer. The Brother Night meeting was a huge success this week, I am so blessed to be a part of this Godly organization.

God has pointed me in several directions this week and it was a little unsettling in as much as 1 Corinthians 14:33 (ESV), 33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace tells me. I read, studied and prayed for clarity in what He wanted me to write about. Well, today it became clear! Purpose, passion and testimony is the focal point for me this week. Each has a place in God’s order of life, even though individually they are vulnerable and often weak. The bible tells me in Ecclesiastes 4:12 (ESV), And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Think on that one for a minute! I have for years, missed the boat completely in understanding this! I heard Pastor Steven Furtick say this week, “my passion must follow my purpose” and through my passion, I will joyfully give testimony at every opportunity to the glory of God. The first of the three is purpose and at this point in my spiritual growth, I feel God’s guiding me to live Philippians 2:1-3 (ESV), 2 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. My purpose is to leave everyone, and everything better than I found it or them. Man! That puts me on the middle hump of the back seat in most everything and yet it brings me such joy. Everytime I find myself purposefully living out my conviction to make things better through Jesus, I am reminded of Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV), 23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. This is pure fuel for my passion and through the infusion of my passion, my resolve of purpose grows stronger. In which is confirmed in Matthew 6:21 ESV, for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. This evokes me to give testimony as to the grandeur of God, with His love for all and His willingness to forgive my ignorance. It important for me and I think it should be for you, to always keep in the front of your mind, that my testimony shows through how I live each day. Please, don’t read between the lines, it is important and rewarding to give verbal testimony, but people have a tendency to believe what they see. Years ago, God gave me the title for this blog, Sunday’s Monday with the preface, “am I living Monday through Saturday that which I display or appear to be on Sunday?” Little did I know then, that He would teach me the depths of His reasoning for me today. God is always teaching me something that may take me hours, months and sometimes years to get a handle on. However, God has been faithful to continue preparing me for the next phase of His wisdom. 2 Peter 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. Today with this new understanding, it is my intention to enjoy living out Philippians 2:1-3 (ESV), 2 So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. My purpose is clear, my passion is growing, and my testimony is my life style! Thank you, God, for your long suffering toward me.

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
