Spiritual Arrhythmia

Sunday’s Monday

I just got to tell you about my week! One day I was able to cheer up some people while shopping. My moto for living has become over the years, always leave them smiling! One day I helped an elderly person prepare for the hurricane and on another day survived that same storm. Pat was with me all day Friday and we had lunch with a new friend and tomorrow is our 21st wedding anniversary. I not saying any of this to look good, it’s just that happy people make me happy! So, SMILE!

Irregular Spirit or Spiritual Arrhythmia has been placed on my heart this week. WebMD; "Arrhythmia" means your heartbeat is irregular!” Unlike that of the human heart which is one of the vital organs, our spirit is by far more vital to life in the now “and” the hereafter. Our heart of flesh can merely help to keep this human shell alive whereas the spirit not only helps to keep this shell going now, the spirit continues eternally. John 6:63 ESV, it is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. A ton of Christians today suffer from spiritual arrhythmia which has come upon them so slowly that they don’t recognize the problem and it will grow worse over time. Can you remember that feeling of grace and freedom when you were first saved? How and what do you feel today? In the beginning my walk with God was accelerating, confusing and scary, but the pieces of my life started coming together in a good way. I had a strong sense of accomplishment in my affairs, as well everything about me began the transition from sinner to saint. I was on fire for God! I guess the thing that I found most confusing was a lot of the Christians that I chose to hang with didn’t show support for my passion. They had forgotten Galatians 6:9 ESV, and let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. I know some Christians right now (sometimes this finger points at me), that sit back, and watch God work in their lives. Their spiritual life is dying because they choose to act to slow when God speaks or act to fast toward their desires. Due to the irregular appointments with God the meetings are often skipped and study (if at all) is often labored and dull. Such symptoms cause the spirit to become laxed to the point of taking God for granted. Little to nothing is done to strengthen the spirit, ergo the spirit becomes weak and overwhelmed. Romans 12:11 ESV, do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord has been lost. This is the time for picking up God’s word to read and re-read, 2 Timothy 1:6 ESV, for this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. Instead of bypassing or short cutting your time with Jesus, sit down and boldly ask Him to help you discover what has been lost along with how can we bring strength to my spirit. Instead of a double life, live the one God has given you, the way He intended. I know that both you and I can get the cure for this Spiritual Arrhythmia once we turn it over to The Great Physician (God)! My thoughts now take me back to an old hymn that we sang in church very often titled, Just a Little Talk With Jesus and in the chorus, it said makes it right. How true it is! Arrhythmia is best controlled in the heart through a regiment of effort and so it must be with our spirit. We can no longer sit back and watch God wait on our obedience because our time is good. We (all of us) must grab the golden ring as God passes it to us and the only way to do that is spend more quality time with Him. Once we do that we will better understand Hebrews 12:12-13 ESV, therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed. It was during one of these moments that I received God’s meaning of 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV, but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Now, I ask you, what do I have to fear and who do I think that I am when I choose to ignore God?

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
