Injustice Toward Our Children

Sunday’s Monday

My week has been so fantastic, I’m almost reluctant to share it. This was my Meals on Wheels week and I had a blast! I had 4 days this past week, 2 regular deliveries and 2 frozen foods. These men and women are such a treat, words can’t explain the feeling. God allowed a surprise meeting with our youngest granddaughter Samantha Findley at our local Walmart Saturday and it made my day for sure. I am blessed beyond measure.

I’m going to start right off with the reiteration of something I’ve heard for most of my life, which is “be careful what you pray for!” Some time back I felt confused or unsure (which is usually nothing new for me) about the bible speaking of generational curse. I talked to God about it, mainly because of my concern for my children and their children and what my part in this might be. Today I’ve got to tell you, this week everywhere I look God is there with someone or something to enlighten me even more on the subject. We’ve started a study in church that is helping me through this dilemma and a dear brother gifted me with a book that delves into my getting a new understanding of what God has for me on this. As I see things today, my understanding of curse isn’t that important in His scheme of things. For me, I understand generational curse to be what my great grandparents did to my grandparents, my grandparents did to my father and mother, which is what I did to my children and they may be doing it to their children. In general, I believe, parents teach their children what they were taught, without a complete understanding of the subject, we assume it to be true because it came from our parents. We have and are turning out generation after generation of misinformed young Christian’s infecting this world with religious confusion. However, there is a flip side to all of this in, Deuteronomy 11:19-21 (NLT), 19 Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 20 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, 21 so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors. A lot of our children have never had or lost their faith because of confusion, as well the new Christian’s are finding themselves in a a world of agitation, hostility and rebellion due to their lack of knowledge. “dictionary.com describes curse as, the cause of evil, misfortune, or trouble,” and I believe we (parents) apply it in two different forms, voluntary (deliberate) and involuntary (we know no better). In either case it is a real injustice to our children! Deuteronomy 4:9 (NLT), “But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren. We are to prepare our children with proper Godly teaching to enter the arena of this world fully armored with the spirit of God and our new Christian’s need to be nurtured to wholeness. Just as Jesus readied his disciples to stay in the world after His return to the Father, so are we to do with our children. John 17:17-18 (NLT), 17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. 18 Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. The majority of our young have no idea of the world until they are out on their own and reality slaps them in the face. Here is a good place to plug in the explanation of sin; sin is meeting a legitimate need in an illegitimate manner! When they feel they have nowhere to turn, nowhere to go and no one to care (because of pride) sin soon becomes their answer. This doesn’t ever have to be! Proverbs 22:6 (NLT), Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Our children, new Christian’s, our neighbors and our enemies need us, and we need 1 Peter 4:8 (NLT), Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Show The Love!!!!!!!!!!

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
