Déjà vu!

As people of one of the richest nations in the world, with more freedoms and benefits than most other countries (in-which could very well be the beginning of our end as a nation.) For well over the 200+ years we (the people of the United States) have become spoiled to the good life that God has graciously blessed us with. We’ve slowly become creatures of a self-driven pompous attitude, which pridefully infiltrates the present generation to believe their wiser, stronger and better qualified to lead than any generation before. With this attitude, each generation somehow feels it must make choices that ultimately alters our culture with sedate changes modifying our morals, beliefs and perception to fit their desired lifestyle. Throughout our nation’s history many changes have been installed and though each seemed to work for the short term, our culture has and is suffering dearly.

We the people have for all intent and purposes developed the attitude of a 10-year-old “only” child. Most of us have become disoriented and / or numb to what is best for ourselves as well as each other. We have lost touch with God and misplaced our faith in man’s ability to govern and provide, protect and fulfill our needs. Peace, love and hope have been replaced by the majority with me, myself and I. Most no longer renew their minds through the study of God’s word or praying and worshiping Him. One can clearly see this verse coming to fruition, 1 Timothy 4:1-2 (ESV), Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared. Methodically the evil one is destroying our ability to freely research our own thoughts.

The world we live in is not the world we perceive it to be and certainly not the world God desires. 1 Timothy 4:7 (ESV), Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness. This world is a swirling cyclone of evil desiring to absorb and abolish every joy found within the promises of God and only through Jesus can we stop this from happening to each of us. Sadly, being spoiled Americans, we try to pay our way to a better life, rather than of pray our way to a perfect eternal life. We chose to be entertained rather than intertwined, convinced and not committed and what’s worse most of us are (by choice) hearers and not doers of God’s instructions.

Purity is out the window (so to speak) in that we are all influenced constantly with the bombardment of today’s media. Our land does not flow with truth and goodwill toward men, which suggest the obvious, should we desire an original thought, direction, desire or belief, we must commit ourselves to our own research and study. No more allowing any media or person to mold our thoughts, without first researching what is being said. For example, this article is the revelation I’ve received from the Holy Spirit, through research, study and prayer. As well I pray you research what I’ve written to receive your own revelation from Jesus. The key to all I write is found in John 15:5 (ESV), I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Again, I think of the question, where are we and what do we believe? I find a resemblance today to the time of Shadrach and before you read the story in Daniel 3: please, read what I found in wikipedia.org, The Book of Daniel is a 2nd-century BC biblical apocalypse combining a prophecy of history with an eschatology (a portrayal of end times) which is both cosmic in scope and political in its focus. In more mundane language, it is "an account of the activities and visions of Daniel, a noble Jew exiled at Babylon," its message being that just as the God of Israel saved Daniel and his friends from their enemies, so he would save all of Israel in their present oppression. Is history trying to repeat itself?

I’ll leave this answer to each individual reader but will interject this scripture for your examination. Romans 15:4 (ESV), For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Should we continue to expect our pastor to read, study and pray for us or our government to a socialist rule ergo eliminating the need for any personal responsibility. If so, our outlook is surly bleak at best. However, we are told in Proverbs 24:14 (ESV), Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Ergo, we have the power through Jesus to improve our today and forever in 1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV), Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

I leave you with this nugget from God in, Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ESV), 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. 8 He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” Lord this is my prayer for all. Amen
