The Power Of Assimilation!

Once again, the world has chosen to play on our negative side. of life. For whatever reason, I recently heard the word grounded used in an angry connotation and it just hit me wrong. I tried to brush it off, but it kept nagging at me. Which led me to start pondering on how easy it is to fall into the negativity that fills this world. You know: that old, glass half full or empty adage. Something as simple as word usage easily depicts where Satan has us in life! Back to the word grounded; which has several usages and yet is known best for its most negative meaning. Why? Because that’s what we are taught through family, media publications, and broadcasting which assimilate the word grounded as a form of discipline. Some of you have been grounded growing up while others my age (71) have grounded our children at some point in life. Satan through great patience and cunning has reduced the application of grounded from meaning sensible and down-to-earth; having one's feet on the ground (positive) to merely describe the indoctrination of punishment (negative). Wow! This is how easy it is for Satan to veer us from the footsteps of Jesus.
Please don’t receive this wrong because I not saying grounding as punishment is a bad thing however I am asking you to look at how much negativity you introduce into the lives of those around you. We are warned in Isaiah 9:16 (NASB), For those who guide this people are leading them astray; And those who are guided by them are confused. You see, we’ve been given the privilege as well, we’ve accepted the responsibility of representing the life of Jesus to others on this earth. Once we truly received Jesus as Lord and Savior, our allegiance is given to Him. In simple terms, we are to diligently seek to grow in the wisdom, ways, and will of God. Our purpose becomes that of filling this world with the positive hope in God to complete us.
As instructed in Romans 15:13 (NASB), Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Let's face it, we are by default lazy people, and a bad attitude is much easier to maintain than a good one. We’ll by nature settle for bad as we prefer to belay the extra effort required to attain good and then be subject to maintain a good attitude. Knowing full well this truth, if people can’t see the joy in our hope that Jesus will do what He said, why would they seek what God is offering. I have come to realize that few Christians know the real power contained within a Godly lifestyle. It produces the ability to draw people toward heaven or hell, as it plants the desire in others to seek out Jesus and to bring us a new relationship to grow and flourish.
Sadly, a vast majority of Christians are causing people to miss the (Jesus) boat, in that their lifestyle is being assimilated with the truth and promises of God! The culprit is those who say they believe with their mouth and yet live oppositely in their everyday life. This is a verse I feel God intended for me to highlight, 2 Peter 2:2-3 (NASB), 2 Many will follow their indecent behavior, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. I don’t think we take enough stock in the effects of our daily actions and neither do we give our mental condition the attention that it desperately needs. Our spiritual health will inevitably be revealed and judged, especially by those who are struggling with God! The question to ask ourselves is if I were lost from or struggling with Christianity would I desire to be in my shoes using the way I act and live every day? Please know, people don’t assimilate you with what you say, they judge Jesus by what you live!
I ask God to bless you with Numbers 6:24-26 (NASB), 24 The Lord bless you, and keep you; 25 The Lord cause His face to shine on you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His face to you, And give you peace.’ Lord, help us as believers to help each other be the best assimilation of you, that we can be, in your strength! May our hearts break at the thought of someone rejecting us, based on a negative action or reaction that we may have or had. Lord cause us to be mindful people living out your love and kindness toward all that we meet. Have us realize that circumstance is just a word, for a place we’re not in at the moment. Have us not judge those who desperately need you from us. Amen.
