Sunday’s Monday

I have had a very blessed week in that the flu has gone from within me and I was able to serve two days for meals on wheels. My meals on wheels time was bitter sweet as one of my 96-year-old clients went home to be with Jesus the week prior and it hurts but she’s happy, which is what matters. I truly thank God for the privilege He’s allowed me in serving these who have given so much for me to enjoy.

Today I’m searching for words to correctly explain that which God has on my heart for this week. I’m seeing things and hearing talk that is causing feelings of despair deep within my soul. The question that is rattling around in my brain is, are we going to sleep? Our churches are being divided into small worldly groups, such as Christian sports, senior travels, youth entertainment and the list is continually growing. I hear their defense that these can be great witnessing opportunities, yet in most cases, if the churches name wasn’t written on the bus, T shirts and or hats, no one would know their Christians. I remember reading the warning in 1 Peter 5:8 (NLT), Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. It seems that the church might be getting a little lax in some areas as it strengthens its quest to bring people to Jesus. There seems to be a feel-good train of thought taking root, that dictates, the grace of God is our catch all. I can “actually” be as weak as I want through the week because I can’t live without sinning and God’s grace will forgive me. If God knows and I know I can’t, “why try?” Or the excuse that tears me up is, “I’m only human; I can’t!” Well it seems that God has an answer for that in, Hebrews 10:26-27 (NLT), 26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. God is supposed to be, no! That’s wrong! God must be at the forefront of everything we do, if we love Him. Remember; our actions will speak the truth. What ever is in our heart will eventually come to our surface once brought into the light of God. The bible is filled with warnings that seem to be falling on deaf ears, that is for the churches that still preach the whole gospel. However, I am hearing more and more today of people church shopping because of what the church has to offer. It appears that decisions are now being decided on basics of social satisfaction rather than seeking spiritual truth. We, (God’s people) have reached the point of delusional or disenchanted thinking. We are being influenced by two main factors, one is; our human desire to be lazy or take the path of least resistance and number two is; the influences of Satan the enemy of our soul. Both very powerful, highly convincing and perfectly desirable. However again we are warned in, 1 John 4:1 (NLT), Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. Satan will send his helpers to mislead, influence and convince you in every way that, “you are human and there is no use even trying anymore.” Satan uses people to convert and control other people to do his bidding, just as Jesus uses people to do the same. However, when Jesus speaks it comes to pass because it is truth where as Satan fulfills nothing because he is the father of all lies. It seems that God is giving me a bottom line to close with and it’s from Jude 20-22 (NLT), 20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, 21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. 22 And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. It helps me to be mindful of the fact that those of wavering faith have only a broken understanding of God’s mercy and little knowledge of His love.

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
