TRANSFORM TOMORROW!

Sunday’s Monday

I have had several encounters over the last couple of weeks to speak with people who are stuck on stupid. I’m not bad-mouthing them in that statement because many of them simply don’t know any better. If I may, I would like to try to give you a vision of where I’m coming from. In several of the conversations when I asked about tomorrow, they had no clue what I was talking about. That same number makes no provision for tomorrow because there is no guarantee that they will be here for it. Therefore, tomorrow is just another hit-and-miss kind of day that you just try to get through as best you can. They have been taught wrong and become stuck on it as fact! They believe tomorrow’s are here to support the what-ifs of today, that we worry so much about. Many shall fall prey to Matthew 6:27 (NLT), Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Pastor Joe Dillard used to say, “Worry is like a rocking chair, it will occupy your time but it won’t get you anywhere.”

Wow! Looking into my past, I lived that life for a long time until Jesus rescued me and gave me a purpose and a reason to change my tomorrow. Yes! I have been told many times that we don’t possess the power to change tomorrow. Oh, but I do! Just as everything I do quickly becomes my past; it also designs my future which is my tomorrow. We have the power to change so much of what happens to us tomorrow. I used to worry about money but I never took a second job, I worried about my children but I never changed to become that person they needed. I spent almost every day waiting for that next shoe to drop because that had become my accepted way of life. My parents lived there for most of my life and I guess I just followed their examples and I’m not saying that my poor behavior was their fault, I’m saying it made it easier to accept. Truth is I was squandering opportunities, funds, friends, family, and self in this process. I was living my life the way I believed it was designed for me to live, or it wouldn’t be happening. I guess you know, to get to the bottom of the mess I made required a big shovel because the blank was deep! But God! Showed me the value in Joshua 3:5 (NLT), Then Joshua told the people, “Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.” The positive changes you allow Jesus to make in you today will definitely change tomorrow for the better. Try it, Jesus is waiting!

The revelation in all of this is, changing what our tomorrow looks like by believing in Jesus to do what He said He would and allowing Him to teach us a new way of thinking. Once we start thinking on things of which the bible speaks in Philippians 4:8 (NLT), And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. With this new way of thinking hope starts to root and grow on vines of faith and leaves of wisdom. We start asking for better tomorrows and putting feet on God’s instructions trusting in Him for a better future. The more our thoughts remain on Him the stronger our resolve to grow more and live in the expectancy of good thing to come. The more our habits become changed the more our worry becomes worship, our complacency changes to understanding, our habits fall to prayer, and our independence dies to dependence. The solution to change is revealed in Romans 12:1 (NLT), And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. What I do with God today controls 75% of my tomorrow.

Father God, Please help me where my flesh still has enough of a hold on me to alter my thinking for a brief time. Would you please accept my plea for forgiveness and help me to repent as I grow strong enough to keep the enemy under control? Lord, I ask that every reader know that change is the answer and that it can only happen through the blood of Jesus. Teach us Lord how important our relationship with you is to you and how we suffer when we fail to perpetuate the ways we can strengthen it. Dad, you know how I want my tomorrows to be filled with your blessings. I thank you for the gift of Proverbs 11:27 (NLT), If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you! I chose to think on those things in Philippians 4:8 as my tomorrows get more and more interesting. Dad, I pray for the readers, I thank you for each one of them, even those who hate or disagree with my writings. May you bless them according to your will and may they experience a better tomorrow for reading this writing. We know Father that it’s a relationship with us individually that you seek and the rest is icing on the cake and we should realize that if we have a relationship with you, our tomorrows will improve. Thank you, Father, as we praise and worship you for who you are. Amen

HAVE A BLESSED WEEK BY BEING A BLESSING TO OTHERS!
