FEAR COATED FAITH!

Sunday’s Monday

There will be people out there who cannot understand this title while many others live it daily, and there are a few who think they live above it. I think when we’re talking about Christians it would be accurate to say all sides are suffering from Fear-Coated Faith. Every group believes their faith is enough to get them through but they worry about the details and often try to manipulate God’s view of His plan. One of the many giveaways to weak faith is consistently struggling with the same issue week after week. Christians seem to be fighting the same demon in a never-ending battle never realizing that is what Satan wants. Most of us pray to receive strong faith but God gives faith in its infancy to use and grow strong. We have the full measure we merely need to apply it. Dictionary.com has a simple definition of faith; confidence or trust in a person or thing: a belief that is not based on proof. The Bible uses a mustard seed because it grows into a 20-30ft. tree from a minuscule seed. Read Matthew 13:32 (ERV), It is the smallest of all seeds. But when it grows, it is the largest of all garden plants. It becomes a tree big enough for the birds to come and make nests in its branches.”.

There are several factors to consider here, God has given us all the faith we will ever need but we must nurture into a strong fearless belief through spending lots of time with Jesus. (Our faith will always equal that of our love for Jesus.) The thing that I seem to be seeing is repeat offenders, people with the same weekly prayer request, or the same confusion that comes up for regular discussion. Most become too busy finding excuses for wrestling with Satan over these repeats to ever question their faith. “Yes! This is experience speaking, this was once me!” I’m reminded of one morning during my 55-mile drive to work in Charlotte when the thought came to me during a question-and-answer time with God, “Worry is the Miracle Grow for every seed that Satan has planted in you!” God had sent me one of those little life-changing lessons and I’ve depended on it heavily over the years. It helps me to stay in my lane while God does, what God does. Meaning; that once I surrender any situation to God, I no longer have the right to worry because I gave all rights to God. He often reminds me of Luke 12:25-26 (ERV), None of you can add any time to your life by worrying about it. 26 And if you can’t do the little things, why worry about the big things?

At best many of us say we surrender this situation to you Lord and never actually turn it loose. I chuckle when I think about trust because I compare it to the procedure in surgery. We all have faith in a good outcome and yet we worry the whole way. I believe this is one of the reasons they put a person to sleep, the first would be pain management and the other is we can’t tell the doctors how to do their job! 😊 Now, this is nothing new to God or man, but you would think that we would wake up to the fact that worry is Satan’s realm. We insist on placing our faith in God but it is weak and always covered in fear. A few will surrender all to Jesus because they have reached that level of understanding and they trust the outcome. They have found peace within the writings of Job 36:16-17 (ERV), “In fact, God wants to help you out of your troubles. He wants to take away your burdens that are crushing you. He wants to load your table with plenty of food. 17 But you are full of this talk about guilt, judgment, and justice! People are unnecessarily living with a Fear-Covered Faith that comes from being religiously beaten into submission that you are a worm, a parasite in the eyes of God to always be less than. We learn to live with the fear of never measuring up. But Jesus measured up for us, He paid the price with His life so all who love the Father may be with the Father eternally.

Father, I pray 1 John 4:18 (ERV), Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love takes away fear. It is his punishment that makes a person fear. So, his love is not made perfect in the one who has fear. Lord may we not get caught in the net of no visible growth. May we each abound in your grace, mercy, and love, always smiling, willing to help (where needed) and always overflowing in your will and ways. Help us Jesus to uproot this spirit of fear and excel in servitude, allegiance, and passion, for The Father as you do. Amen
