WHO’S KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR?

SUNDAY’S MONDAY

I’m sure many have read and even more have heard what is written in Revelation 3:20 (NLT), “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” I was recently engaged in a phone conversation with a dear friend and mentor when this subject came up and he asked, “Who’s door are we knocking on? That stuck in an unusual fashion that I couldn’t shake off, as the words kept echoing in my thoughts. Thus, I spoke with Jesus, who felt the subject needed to be addressed. We are not the ones knocking, Jesus is, and far too many people are being fooled into opening the door for Satan to enter as he is an excellent impersonator of Jesus.

This can be a slippery slope as most everyone feels they have a great understanding of the scriptures and what Jesus is saying. As we are told in Revelation 3:7-8 (ERV), 7 “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open: 8 “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me. In trying to be as accurate as possible and not taint the subject with my limited wisdom, I did some research on the meaning of little strength. I found the information that I sought in bibleref.com which explained “As the embodiment of truth, Jesus offers an accurate, unbiased assessment of the Church at Philadelphia's works. He had opened a door of opportunity before the church. No one possessed the strength to close it. He describes the church as having only a little power, but it has used that power to good effect. It had kept Jesus' word, likely His commands that His apostles had passed down to believers, and it had remained loyal to Him.John 15:5 (NLT), “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

There are a great number of people who are opening the door for the wrong voice because we’ve been deceived into believing we know God’s voice. These are under the illusion that they have control of what goes on outside and inside their hearts. When in fact they are slowly decaying into the great abyss. Satan is stealing their everything, their joy, self-respect, and everyone they love along with everything they have. They’ll soon remember only days tainted with pain, feeling invisible in the present, with thoughts of a non-existent future. Satan leaves nothing but the joy of death. Yet we live in a sense of insanity doing absolutely nothing to better ourselves and expecting each day to be different. We quite often refuse to open the door for fear Jesus will change everything and everyone will know what we are. For those who surrender all, enjoy life and the abundance found within. Isaiah 51:11 (NLT), Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness. Through the prophet Isaiah we learn about the promise of God to give the Israelites “everlasting joy.” Can you imagine the joy that is never-ending? How is that even possible? While happiness is impacted by the circumstances around us, joy is given to us by God and should define our lives no matter the circumstances. Taken from wesleyan.org

Pray this with me: “Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me. I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, to the world to save and to set me free. I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me. Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands, for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul, and spirit. Cover me with the most precious blood of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Cast anything that should not be in me. Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the power of Jesus’ precious blood. Let the fire of your healing love pass through my entire body to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body will function the way you created it to function. Touch also my mind and my emotions, even the deepest recesses of my heart. Saturate my entire being with your presence, love, joy, and peace, and draw me ever closer to you every moment of my life. And Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit and empower me to do your works so that my life will bring glory and honor to your holy name. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.” By St Padre Pio
